Top End cricket series raises $4,269 for flood-affected children in Nepal

Kathmandu, October 7

The Top End T20 series in Australia has raised US$4,269 for flood-affected children in Nepal.

The organisers said the money raised during the series will be handed over to UNICEF Australia. It will be spent to support children affected by the flash floods in Nepal.

Through UNICEF Australia, the funds will be used to provide affected children with life-saving health services, nutrition and safe drinking water, the organisers said.

The organisers thanked the Nepali community that supported the campaign, the Study NT ambassadors who helped run the raffle, and everyone who bought tickets, took part in the raffle or donated directly.

The Nepal A cricket team took part in the Top End T20 series in Australia. While the series was underway, devastating floods struck districts of Nepal including Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.

At the time, Cricket Australia expressed solidarity with the Nepali people affected by the floods and also appealed for support for UNICEF Australia’s Nepal emergency relief campaign.
