KP Sharma Oli, who resigned as Prime Minister, said his decision was aimed at paving the way for a political resolution.
Oli stated that he stepped down in light of the extraordinary situation in the country, adding that his resignation was intended to create space for further initiatives to resolve the ongoing crisis.
“Considering the current extraordinary situation in the country, I have resigned from the post of Prime Minister with effect from today under Article 77 (1) (a) of the Constitution, to facilitate a constitutional political way out and further initiatives for problem-solving,” Oli wrote in his resignation.
