Kathmandu, July 24
The Kathmandu District Court on Wednesday issued arrest warrants for film director Chhabi Ojha and his wife Shilpa Pokharel.
Earlier this week, Ojha’s first wife, Hema, had filed a complaint against them, charing her husband of polygamy, which is a crime as per Nepali law.
DSP Hobindra Bogati at the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range says police received the warrants.
“Our women’s cell has launched an investigation,” he says, “We are searching for both Ojha and Pokharel.”
Before Hema’s complaint, Shilpa had spoken to media about her husband’s allegedly abusive behaviours.
She too had filed a complaint against Ojha, saying he inflicted domestic violence on her. But, police had convinced them for reconciliation.
