A Yeti Airlines aircraft gets its wheel locked at Pokhara Airport, on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.

Pokhara, April 10

Flights scheduled to land in and take off the Pokhara Airport in Kaski district this afternoon have been affected as an aircraft belonging to Yeti Airlines got its wheel of landing gear locked on the runway.

The aircraft witnessed the problem while it was being parked after landing. It had successfully carried the flight from Kathmandu earlier.

“We have called technicians from Kathmandu and we will fix it soon,” informs the Airport Chief Bhola Guragain. He says the aeroplane will be take to the parking bay before the runway resumes operation.

The Airport’s Information Officer Kashi Nath Adhikari says a small-size Tara Air craft has been mobilised to ferry the technicians as no other big planes can land there currently.

Airport officials hope that the flights will resume by Tuesday evening.

The airport handles around 35 flights every day.
