Kathmandu, October 8

Yeti Airlines has suspended its upper-class fares on flights departing Kathmandu during the Dashain festival, citing high passenger demand for outbound flights.

The airline said the decision was taken despite the likelihood of empty return flights and higher fuel costs during the festive period.

Yeti said it is offering fares at the lowest available rates on flights returning to Kathmandu.

The airline said aviation fuel prices have surged from Rs 127 to Rs 249 per litre this year due to wars in different parts of the world, making fuel the most expensive it has been so far.

Yeti said the sharp rise in fuel prices has made it difficult to offer fares at the affordable rates it provided last year and expressed regret over the situation.

The airline also extended Dashain greetings to its passengers and well-wishers, wishing them happiness, peace, prosperity and good health.
