With 12 fallen Nepali workers on board, Nepal Airlines plane lands at Tribhuvan International Airport

The Nepal Airlines plane carrying 12 Nepali nationals killed in Monday’s terrorist attack in Kabul has landed at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Apart from the fallen Nepalis, who were working at the Canadian Embassy in Kabul as security guards, 24 Nepali nationals working in Afghanistan have also returned, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.

The government had sent the plane to the Afghan capital to bring home the dead and other workers, who wanted to return, in the immediate aftermath of the attack. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Home Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet have reached the airport to receive the bodies and so have members of bereaved families.

The bodies will be taken to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for post-mortems. After that, they will be handed over to families concerned.
