Kathmandu, October 14
The Federal Parliament Secretariat has informed that lawmaker Mohammad Aftab Alam has been suspended from his position following his arrest.
Police in Rautahat district of southern Nepal had arrested the lawmaker for his alleged involvement in a fatal explosion in Rajpur of the district in April 2008. At least five persons were killed in the incident.
The Nepali Congress Central Working Committee member was elected the House of Representatives member from Rautahat-2 in the 2017 elections.
