Yeti Obhijaan becomes first Bengali movie to be dubbed into Nepali

‘Yeti Obhijaan’ is set to become the first Bengali film to be dubbed into Nepali, according to reports int the Indian Press.

According to DNA, Gopi Krishna Movies will dub the film, which has been given the title ‘Yeti’, into Nepali. Gopi Krishna Movies, which also owns the Gopi Krishna Cinema Hall, will also distribute the move.

The movie is on Sunil Gangopadhyay’s novel Pahar Churoy Aatonko (Terror on the Mountain Peak). According to reports it chronicles one man’s pursuit to solve the mystery behind the existence of the yeti, the mythical creature believed to roam the Himalayas.

Mahendra Soni, co-founder and director of SVF Entertainment, which has produced the film, has been quoted in reports as saying the team decided to dub the movie in Nepal as so many Nepali-speaking people were involved in its making.

“The translation has been done. Voices will be of Nepali artists. Posters have already been readied,” Soni added.

Directed by Srijit Mukherjee, the film was shot in the Swiss Alps.
