TU holds 51st convocation, over 16,000 graduates awarded degrees (Photos)

Kathmandu, December 25

More than 16,000 students of Tribhuvan University have been conferred degrees. They graduated during the university’s 51st Convocation Ceremony held at the Dasarath Stadium.

A total of 89,191 students passed various levels at the university, including bachelor’s, master’s, MPhil, and PhD programs.

This year, 14,851 students passed from the Faculty of Humanities, 43,610 from Management, 2,335 from Law, and 16,467 from Education. Of them, 16,380 students applied to participate in the convocation ceremony.

At the ceremony, 11 female students and 14 male students who achieved outstanding results in various faculties and levels were awarded medals.

For the first time in the university’s history, students were conferred degrees in the presence of Nobel Prize–winning Japanese professor Takaaki Kajita as the chief guest.

Affiliated with the University of Tokyo, he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2015.
