Weekly weather forecasts: Possibility of rain and snowfall in some places

Kathmandu, October 28

Rainfall and light snowfall are forecast in some places of the country over the next week, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology says in its special weekly weather bulletin.

There is the possibility of light snowfall in the mountainous region and scattered to light rainfall in the hilly region, the bulletin states. Partial to generally cloudy weather is predicted in Province 1, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces towards the weekend.

The weekly weather bulletin says the maximum and minimum temperatures will likely drop in most parts of the country over the next week.

The minimum temperature was 13.0 degrees Celsius and the maximum was 25.0 degrees Celsius in the Kathmandu valley in the last 24 hours.

Jumla recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 0.6 degrees Celsius and Janakpur the highest maximum of 31.5 degrees Celsius throughout the country over the last 24 hours, the department says.
