Voting to elect new NRNA leadership today

Kathmandu, October 16

Election for the new International Coordination Council of Non-Resident Nepalis Association, the global organisation of Nepali diaspora, is being held in Kathmandu today.

The voting will begin this afternoon after the deadline of filing candidacies for various positions has ended at 11 am.

The ICC will include the president, two vice-presidents, one general secretary, one secretary, one treasurer and members. Likewise, six regional coordinators, six deputy coordinators, women’s coordinator, women’s deputy coordinator,youth coordinator and youth deputy coordinator will also be elected today.

As electronic voting machines will be used, the results will come out by this evening, according to the organisation.

Bhawan Bhatta and Jamuna Gurung are contesting for the president.

The 8th global conference and international general assembly had begun in Kathmandu on Saturday.
