Vivo Nepal has officially launched its budget smartphone, the Vivo Y27s. The smartphone gives a continuation to the popular Y series from Vivo known for its design and budget price options. The smartphone is part of the Y27 series, which includes the Vivo Y27 4G and the Vivo Y27 5G.

Design and Display

The Vivo Y27s has a similar design to its siblings. The flat back is made up of plastic and has a shiny matte finish which is quite attractive. The camera module sits on the top left and is surrounded by a shiny metal-like strip. The frame is also made up of plastic and has a shiny metal-like finish. On the front, the display has the traditional water-drop notch camera cut out. The bezels are relatively thick like on other budget offerings.

The Vivo V27s has a 6.64-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2,388×1,080 (FHD+) and a 90 Hz refresh rate. It has a high peak brightness of 650 nits covers 100 per cent of the P3 colour gamut and with 99 per cent NTSC colour saturation. Its LED technology powers the screen, and the capacitive multi-touch feature adds a responsive and intuitive experience.

It also has an IP rating of IP54 which protects the smartphone from water splash and dust.

Performance and Storage

The Vivo V27s comes with a Snapdragon 680 chipset built on a 6nm architecture and octa-core CPU which consists of four 2.4 GHz Kryo 265 Gold cores and four 1.9 GHz Kryo 265 Silver cores. The graphics processing is handled by the Adreno 610 GPU. As for the operating system, the smartphone runs on Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13.

The Vivo Y27s is available in one RAM option of 8 GB which is paired with one storage option of 256 GB. The RAM also has a virtual RAM feature allowing users to add an extra 8 GB RAM using the storage for better performance and processing. It also has a dedicated MicroSD card slot which supports up to 1 TB expandable storage.

Camera

The Vivo V27s has a dual camera setup on the rear. Its rear camera has a 50MP main lens with an aperture of f/1.8 which clicks decent detailed photos. The other is a 2MP depth lens which helps to add depth and clarity. It has various features such as night, portrait, photo, video, 50MP, panorama, documents, slo-mo, time-lapse, pro, live photo and double exposure.

As for video, the rear camera of the Vivo Y27s supports 1,080p video shooting at 30fps.

For selfies, the Vivo Y27s has an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The selfies from the selfie camera are decent and support 1080p video shooting at 30fps.

Battery and Others

The Vivo V27s has a 5,000mAh battery, which provides ample power to last through the day. If it does not last a day it can be quickly refilled using the in-box 44W wired charger. Using the charger, the smartphone can charge from 0-30 per cent in about 15 minutes. For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac for fast internet access and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless connections with compatible devices. It has dual SIM functionality.

As for audio the Vivo Y27s has a single loudspeaker. It also includes the rare 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of sensors, it features an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, proximity sensor, gyroscope, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

It is available in two colour options; Burgundy Black and Garden Green.
