‘Underground’ Biplav to show up at November 24 mass meeting

Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’

Kathmandu, November 5

The General Secretary of Communist Party of Nepal, Netra Bikram Chand aka ‘Biplav’, is making himself public during a mass meeting to be organised by the party in Kathmandu on November 24.

The chief of Maoist party, which has been occasionally carrying out destructive activities against the government, is said to be ‘underground’ for past few months.

Meanwhile, a government team under the leadership of lawmaker Som Prasad Pandey is preparing to hold talks with the Biplav-led party before the mass meeting.

The party, however, has questioned the authority of the team.

“But, the things are turning positive,” Pandey says, “We are in conversation with the concerned person.”

He hopes that the informal talks would turn into formal conversations soon.
