United Democratic Madheshi Front has not yet commented on the court ruling in response to the Constitution Amendment Bill.

A UDMF leader said the front is busy analysing the verdict.

UDMF leaders say the verdict has clearly interpreted the principle of separation of powers. According to them, the court has made it clear that Constitution amendment is a prerogative of the Parliament. Since the court ruling is against intervention in activities of the Parliament, the UML cannot obstruct the Parliament under any pretext.

Some UDMF leaders say the court has made it clear that Constitution amendment is a prerogative of the House. Since the ruling is against intervention in activities of the Parliament, UML cannot obstruct the Parliament under any pretext

Raj Kishor Yadav, preseident of MJF (Republican), told Onlinekhabar: The court has already stated that Constitution amendment is within the jurisdiction of the Parliament. Continued obstruction of the Parliament will be against the court ruling. Therefore, the UML should let the Parliament resume its businesses without any precondition.

Yadav said: The Supreme Court ruling has established that the Parliament is free to decide on matters related to Constitution amendment.

In light of the court verdict, UDMF will soon decide its future course and make its stance public soon, he said.
