Kathmandu, June 22
At least two persons died after being buried in a landslide in Sammobari, Tansen municipality-11, near the Palpa district headquarters, on Monday.
The landslide had pushed two vehicles–a tanker and a minitruck–plying the road downward along with the landslide debris, DSP Madan Giri says, adding the victims were travelling on the vehicles. He informs the security personnel rescued one.
“The landslide pushed the vehicles off the road without burying them completely,” he says, “We are yet to ascertain how many people were travelling there.”
He says the rescue operation is still underway.
