Kathmandu, January 22

The obstruction Narayangadh-Muglin road in Chitwan district that connects Kathmandu with the East-West Highway has reopened.

The road was obstructed following a landslide at Tuinkhola, Ichchhakamana rural municipality-6 of the district, at around 9:30 pm on Tuesday. Hundreds of vehicles had been stopped on both sides due to the landslide.

The Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project says the landslide debris was removed by 3 am today by using two excavators and a loader.

The road used to be obstructed by several landslides frequently in the past few years as an expansion and upgrading project was ongoing there. Though the project has been completed, effective measures to block the landslides have not been introduced yet.
