Kathmandu, January 27
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has claimed that foreign tourists visiting Nepal need not fear coronavirus infection in Nepal. He says the government is prepared to stop the infection from becoming an epidemic here.
Speaking with stakeholders of tourism and aviation industries in Kathmandu on Monday, the minister said the entrepreneurs should also support the government from protecting the country from the epidemic. When representatives of the private sector recommended that the government take some concrete initiatives to communicate about Nepal’s safety, he also urged the stakeholders to play their role.
The minister also directed officials to tighten security checks at the international airport and other border points.
Bhattarai was of the view that hoteliers should send their clients to hospitals once they experience the symptoms.
