Three killed in Makawanpur jeep fall

Kathmandu, December 27

Three persons died when six others sustained injuries when a jeep fell off the road in Ramchandra Bhanjyang, Indrasarobar-3 of Makawanpur district, around 40 km south of Kathmandu.

The victims include one woman and two men, according to SP Arun Paudel at the District Police Office.

The four-wheeler (Na 1 Ja 3433) coming to Kathmandu from Hetaunda via Kulekhani-Sisneri road fell around 500 metres down the road, according to him. Besides the driver, the jeep was carrying five men and one woman. The injured also include the driver.

The injured have been rescued by the personnel sent by police posts in Sisneri, Bhimphedi, Chhaimale and Pharping. They have been taken to Pharping-based Manmohan Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Paudel says police are yet to find out the cause of the accident and further investigation is underway.
