Kathmandu, February 28
Though Nepal Army said its personnel brought bodies of all seven victims killed in a helicopter crash in Taplejung district of eastern Nepal on Wednesday, officials inform only two bodies were collected identifiable.
The bodies of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari and his security guard Arjun Ghimire are identifiable, according to sources. Adhikari’s body was not completely burned whereas Ghimire was recognised due to the boots he wore.
The bodies of tourism entrepreneur Ang Tshering Sherpa, CAAN officials Birendra Shrestha and Dhruba Das Bhochhibhaya, undersecretary Yuba Raj Dahal and pilot Prabhakar KC are yet to be identified.
Now, the kin will be asked to identify the bodies during postmortem at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. If that does not work, the government will proceed for a DNA test as the last option, according to Nepal Police spokesperson SSP Uttam Raj Subedi.
The bodies have been taken to the TUTH for postmortem.
