Kathmandu, November 7
One person died whereas six others have sustained injuries when an ambulance fell off the road in the Taplejung district of eastern Nepal on Saturday night.
The victim has been identified as Hem Kala Limbu (16), a resident of Maiwakhola rural municipality of the district, informs the District Police Office.
The ambulance (Province 1-01-001 Jha 0224), heading to Dharan of Sunsari from Sanghu, Maiwakhola of Taplejung, had fallen off the road at Milkedanda at around 11 pm on Saturday. A preliminary investigation reveals the ambulance fell off the road as it could not pick up the pace along the upwards road.
Seriously injured in the accident, Limbu, breathed her last while being rushed to a hospital.
The condition of other injured is normal, according to police.
