Kathmandu, November 2
Nepali Congress leader Govinda Raj Joshi on Thursday filed his candidacy for House of Representatives elections from Tanahun Constituency 1. Party’s second-in-command senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel is contesting the polls from the constituency as the official candidate of the party.
Earlier, Joshi had warned of a rebellion if he was not given the ticket.
Joshi says he decided to file papers as an independent candidate as the party issued tickets to Paudel against sentiments of local cadres and voters. He also accused the party leadership of being influenced by nepotism and favouritism while deciding its candidates.
Joshi had gone to the Election Office with Nepali Congress flags to file the candidacy.
