17 Feb, Pokhara: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has ruled out the possibility talks with the ruling parties on current political disputes until a sword of majority hanged on the neck of the parties of the comprehensive peace agreement was removed.
The same sword has posed a threat to nation’s politics, Dahal said addressing the first national gathering of Unified All Nepal Teachers’ Association here Tuesday.
The UCPN (Maoist) Chairman argued that the 30-party alliance headed by his party had no choice to going to the people after it was excluded from the constitution drafting process in the name of majority.
Former king Gyanendra Shah’s domination on the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) led to the outcome of the Comprehensive Peace Accord and to the restoration of democracy and the arrogance of same two parties provided both the Maoist parties an opportunity for reunion, he said.
The mass meeting announced by the 30-party alliance on February 28 would turn decisive to bring the ruling parties to an agreement.
On a separate context, he pledged to solve problems faced by temporary and relief-quota schoolteachers after the resumption of Legislature-Parliament.
Party Standing Committee members Agni Prasad Sapkota and Devendra Poudel accused the ruling parties of trying to strip people of their rights.
Association central chairman Ratna Bahadur Ratna Bahadur Oli chaired the programme.
Over 400 representatives and observers across the country are taking part in the three-day gathering. RSS
