Kathmandu, April 26
Student unions affiliated with various political parties are planning to padlock as many as 26 big schools of Kathmandu Valley claiming they hiked the fee going against set rules.
The unions would padlock account and administration sections of the schools.
The unions have finalised the list, but are yet to reveal the names.
ANNISU-Revolutionary Vice-Chairman Ranjit Tamang said no any school increasing the fee would be spared.
Unions affiliated to big and fringe parties including Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Centre, CPN-ML and Rastriya Janamorcha have been jointly staging protests demanding that the schools roll back the fee hike decision.
They had picketed various district education offices yesterday and are planning to padlock offices of the schools’ networks–PABSON and NPABSON–tomorrow.
Last week, they had also submitted a memorandum to Education Minister Dhaniram Poudel, serving a three-day ultimatum to meet the demand.
Meanwhile, Tamang said that the protest would be intensified if their demand was not met at the earliest.
