7 best smartphones under Rs 10,000 in the Nepali market

Smartphones have become an essential part of people’s life these days. The dependency on smartphones has increased a lot in these past few years. There are many smartphones from various companies in Nepal like Mi, Samsung, Vivo, Oppo and Realme that are competing to gain the market share as much as possible.

Today, we will bring you a list of smartphones that will cost you less than Rs 10,000. These phones do not bring any exciting features for the users, obviously due to cost constraints, but do the basics of a smartphone. They can get you connected to the internet, make calls, take pictures and have minimal storage for your files.

If you are on a very tight budget but are in need of a smartphone, here is the list for you.

1. Samsung M01 Core

Apart from selling expensive and feature-galore top-class smartphones, Samsung also has an entry-level smartphone as M01 Core. Weighing only at 150 grams, this phone has 5.3 inches of PLS IPS display with a maximum resolution of 720*1,480 pixels. The phone has a dual sim support system.

Samsung M01 Core runs on Android 10 (Go edition) and is powered by Mediatek MT6739 chipset. The phone has 16GB or 32GB of internal memory that can be further extended with a microSD card through a dedicated slot on the phone. Talking about the RAM, only 1GB and 2GB RAM options are available.

There is an 8MP camera on the front that can record videos in 1080p and a 5MP camera on the front for selfies. There is a 3,000 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery on the phone. Furthermore, this device supports FM radios, has a Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack and supports micro-USB 2.0.

The price of the Samsung M01 Core is Rs 8,399.

2. Nokia C2

Nokia C2 is an entry-level smartphone from Nokia. It has a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with a maximum resolution of 720*1,440 pixels. The phone weighs 161 grams and is 8.9mm thick. The phone supports a dual sim.

Nokia C2 has a 5MP camera on both front and rear and can capture videos in 720p. There is also an LED flash both on the front and rear. Providing the power to the phone is a 2,800 mAh Li-ion removable battery.

The phone runs on Android 9 (Go edition) and is powered by a Unisoc chipset. The phone has a 16GB internal memory and 1GB RAM option, and the storage can be expanded with a microSD card that has a dedicated slot on the phone. The phone supports FM radio, has Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone jack and connects through a micro-USB 2.0.

3. Nokia C1 Plus

C1 Plus is another entry-level smartphone from Nokia. It has a 5.45-inch IPS LCD display with a maximum resolution of 720*1,440 pixels. Weighing around 146 grams, the phone has a glass front, plastic back and a plastic frame.

Nokia C1 plus has a 5MP camera on both front and rear and can capture videos in 720p resolution. The phone is also backed up by a 2500 mAh Li-ion removable battery.  

The phone runs on Android 10 (Go edition) and has 16GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM. The storage of the phone can be expanded with a microSD card. The phone supports FM radio, micro USB 2.0 and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The price of the Nokia C1 Plus is Rs 7,990.

4. Redmi Go

Redmi Go is one of the best entry-level smartphones from Mi. It has a five-inch IPS LCD display that has a maximum resolution of 720*1,280 pixels. It weighs around 137 grams and has a glass front, plastic back and a plastic frame. The phone also supports a dual sim.

Redmi Go has a single 8MP camera at the rear while there is a 5MP camera at the front. The rear camera can record videos in 1080p and is assembled with an LED flash. There is a 3000 mAh non-removable Li-ion battery that provides power to the phone.

This device runs on Android 8.1 (Go edition) and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset. The graphics are handled by Adreno 308 and has a Quad-Core 1.4GHZ CPU. There is 1GB of RAM on the phone while the users can choose between 8GB and 16GB of internal storage. Also, the storage can be expanded with a microSD card. There is an FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack and Bluetooth 4.1 on the phone.

The price of Redmi Go is Rs 7,499 for 8GB and Rs 7,999 for the 16GB variant.

5. IMARS ViVi 8

iMars is not a popular smartphone brand, but it provides some affordable smartphones. ViVi 8 is one of the smartphones that can be purchased at a price under Rs 10,000. The phone has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a maximum resolution of 720*1,280 pixels.

There is a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera on the phone. Interestingly, there is a fingerprint sensor just below the rear camera. The phone gets its power from a 3200 mAh battery.

ViVi 8 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and has a 1.8GHz Spreadtrum CPU and graphics are handled by Mali T820. The phone comes with a 3GB and 4GB RAM option and has 32GB of internal memory.

The price of iMars ViVi 8 is Rs 7,500 for 3GB and Rs 9,000 for the 4GB RAM option.

6. Inoi 5

Inoi also offers some affordable smartphones in Nepal. Inoi 5 has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a maximum resolution of 720*1,280 pixels. The phone has a glass front, plastic back and a plastic frame. There is a 2,850 mAh Li-Po battery that provides power to the phone.

There is a dual camera on this smartphone. The main 13MP camera is accompanied by a 2MP camera along with an LED flash. There is also a fingerprint sensor below the camera. At the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera. The rear camera can record videos in 1080p.

Inoi 5 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 chipset. The graphics of the phone are handled by PowerVR GE8100. There is 8GB internal storage on the phone and 1GB of RAM. The memory can be expanded with a microSD card.

The price of Inoi 5 is Rs 9,345.

7. Lava Benco V7

Lava is another less known smartphone brand in Nepal. Benco V7 is an entry-level smartphone from Lava. This device has a 6.1-inch IPS LCD display with a maximum resolution of 1,280*600 pixels. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone.

There is an 8MP camera on the rear of the phone accompanied by an LED flash while a 5MP camera resides on the front for taking selfies. Backing up the phone is a 4000mAh battery which offers a standby time of 493 hours.

The Lava Benco V7 phone runs on Star OS 5.1 based on Android 9 Pie. Powering the device is a Unisoc SC9832r Quad-core processor and the graphics are handled by Mali T820. It has 2GB RAM and internal storage of 16GB. The storage can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card.

The price of Lava Benco V7 is Rs 9,999. Like Nokia, Lava also has some affordable smartphones in the market.

Other than this list, there are many other smartphone brands like Pearltech, Xtouch, Vitu, Diamond, Colors and Coolpad that are offering smartphones under Rs 10,000 in Nepal.
