Govt planning to print smart licence in all seven provinces

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport is planning to print smart licences in all seven provinces of the country.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Mohammad Ishtiyaq Rayi, has said the ministry was planning to set up one printing station each in Province 1, Madhesh, Karnali and Sudurpaschim and two each in Gankadi and Lumbini provinces.

With this, the ministry wants to ensure everyone gets their smart licence within two days of their test. But, Rayi adds the ministry does not have enough budget to do so currently.

He also adds the ministry is planning to hand over a machine to traffic police that could read the licence.
