Kathmandu, November 22
The chief of Siraha District Land Revenue Office, Ram Babu Mandal, has been arrested red-handed while receiving Rs 500,000 bribe from a service recipient.
A team deployed from the Bardibas office of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority arrested him at the office this morning.
The CIAA Bardibas office chief, Narayan Prasad Sapkota, says Mandal had demanded the kickback to provide some documents related to a land plot used by landless squatters.
Upon not receiving the documents after repeated requests, the person had filed a complaint against Mandal at the anti-corruption constitutional body.
