Janakpurdham, April 10
A 10-year-old girl died and her father got injured when a car hit a motorbike they were riding on, in Kalyanpur, Khadak municipality-7 of the Saptari district along the East-West Highway, on Sunday afternoon.
Dhruva Basnet (36), a resident of Bagatol, Triyuga municipality-9 of the Udayapur district, was riding the two-wheeler (Ko 15 Pa 191), carrying his daughter Anjila on the pillion, when the motorbike was hit by the car (Ba 3 Cha 5293).
DSP Naresh Kumar Singh, the Saptari District Police Office spokesperson, says the two had sustained injuries in the accident and were rushed to the Chhinnamasta Hospital in Rajbiraj, the district headquarters. The daughter died in the course of treatment after a few hours.
Further investigation is underway.
