Saptari bus hits bike, kills 2

Two persons died when a bus hit a motorbike in the Saptari district of southeastern Nepal, along the East-West Highway, on Thursday.

One of the victims has been identified as Raj Kumar Tiwari (22), a resident of the Supaul district in the Indian state of Bihar, DSP Madhav Prasad Kaphle, the spokesperson of the District Police Office, informs.

Seriously injured in the accident, he was rushed to Biratnagar but died on the way, according to him.

Tiwari was riding the motorbike with Indian registration number BR 38 R 8173, which was hit by a westbound bus (Ga 1 Kha 9642) in Barmajhiya, Kanchanrup municipality-2 of the district.

Another person riding on the bike, a man appearing in his early 30s, died during treatment at the Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj, according to police.

Meanwhile, the bus also hit a pedestrian, and he has sustained injuries. The 19-year-old Rohan Kumar Gupta, a resident of Barmajhiya, Kanchanrup-1 of the district, is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Biratnagar.

Further investigation is underway.
