Kathmandu, September 6
Six members of the same family were found murdered in the Madi municipality-1 of the Sankhuwasabha district in eastern Nepal on Monday morning.
Mayor Bidur Prasad Linthep says members of a Karki family in ward 1 of the town were found dead this morning.
“Neighbours saw the bodies, some inside the house and some outside, and informed authorities,” Linthep says, “I am going to the incident site.”
DSP Lal Dhwaj Subedi, the chief of the District Police Office, identifies the victims as Tej Bahadur Karki, his mother, wife, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. “Tej Bahadur’s 92-year-old father is safe inside the house,” he says.
Subedi suspects the crime took place last night.
Local police say they are looking into the case. The Chainpur Area Police Office has deployed a team under the command of Inspector Yuuba Raj Khatiwada.
