Kathmandu, March 26
Nepali teenage spin sensation Sandeep Lamichhane heads to New Delhi on Tuesday to take part in the Indian Premier League, the biggest domestic T20 tournament in the world.
Lamichhane, who recently became the first Nepali player to bag an IPL contract, was picked by Delhi Daredevils during an auction last month. At a press conference in Kathmandu on Monday, Lamichhane said that he was excited to embark on a new journey. “I want to learn from the tournament and implement it when I play for Nepal,” Lamichhane said.
The leggie will begin training on March 29/30. The management and the coaches of the team will watch his performance in the nets closely. Lamichhane will be picked for the final XI if he continues to impress his coaches.
