A man has been murdered in a khukuri attack, in Betani, Suddhodan rural municipality-3 of the Rupandehi district, on Sunday night. Another one has been injured.

The victim has been identified as Abadhesh Chamar, Susta-3 of the Nawalparasi West district. He used to work for a plywood factory in Betani.

Chamar’s co-worker, Ravi Singh, a permanent resident of India, had attacked him, causing serious injuries, DSP Satya Narayan Thapa, the spokesperson of the District Police Office. Chamar breathed his last while being taken to a nearby hospital.

DSP Thapa says the two workers had a fight under the influence of alcohol, leading to the khukuri attack.
