Butwal, March 24
Two persons have been arrested on the charge of raping two teenage girls in the Rukum East district of Lumbini recently.
The suspects have also been accused of abducting minors aged 14 and 15 respectively and holding hostage to commit the crime.
Police have not revealed the suspects’ identities yet.
DSP Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha of the District Police Office says the alleged victims’ families had filed a complaint at the DPO after the teens went missing for nine days. Then, the police launched a search and found them captive in the room of a 23-year-old man.
During the preliminary investigation, police found the two men repeatedly raped the minors after the abduction.
DSP Shrestha says the alleged victims will be handed over to the families soon while further investigation into the case is underway.
