Dang, October 4
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to launch an organisational expansion, public outreach and election-focused campaign from Maurighat, the capital of Lumbini Province, in Dang.
The party will inaugurate its provincial office in Maurighat after relocating it from Lamahi. RSP General Secretary Bipin Acharya and all party lawmakers elected from Dang are scheduled to arrive in Deukhuri today to participate in the office inauguration and campaign activities.
RSP Dang Chair Kiran Khanal said the campaign would begin at the provincial level and expand to local levels, electoral constituencies, wards and neighbourhoods.
In its first phase, the party plans to expand its organisation to ward and neighbourhood levels, engage directly with local residents and link local problems and needs with its political agenda.
Acharya, who is also a lawmaker, is scheduled to meet all government office chiefs in Dang on Sunday to discuss the state of development projects and the government’s work and priorities.
Tourism Minister Khadkaraj Paudel is also scheduled to visit Dang on October 8 to inspect Tarigaun Airport in Tulsipur, among other activities.
The RSP has been expanding its organisation across the country in preparation for local-level elections. The party plans to mobilise lawmakers and central members across all 753 local levels in 77 districts for the campaign.
The party said the campaign will include discussions with citizens on local government performance, policy initiatives and its candidate selection process for upcoming elections.
