Nepali Congress leader and Minister of State for Irrigation Amar Singh Pun has been targeted in an explosive attack by suspected anti-election activists in Gjodagaun, Suwarnamati Rural Municipality-1 of Rolpa district this afternoon.
Witnesses say some people hurled the explosive at the Minister’s vehicle from behind while he was in the village to solicit votes.
The District Police Office says the incident did not cause any loss.
Police suspect that cadres of Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led CPN Maoist were involved in the attack. The party, however, has denied its role.
Earlier, Pun’s rival, Barsha Man Pun of CPN-Maoist Centre, was also targeted in the similar incident.
