The Robin N’ Looza renamed themselves to Robin and the New Revolution around a decade ago, owing to the disbanding in the late 2000s. Despite the change in the members and names and other issues, the band’s contribution to Nepali music has remained constant. The blues rock band are well known for their unique lyrics and composition.

1. Bhool Ma Bhulyo

Bhool Ma Bhulyo is one of the most popular songs of the band. Let’s say this is the signature song of the band. They do not miss performing this in any of their shows.  The lyrics of the song satirically depict the poor condition of the country.

2. Shine on Me

Shine on Me by Robin and the New Revolution is an English song. This rock song that includes a captivating chorus and guitar solo definitely makes you bang your head.

3. Keta Keti

Keta Keti is dedicated to kids. It shows concerns over unmanaged urbanisation where there is no open space for the kids to play. The song is very relatable for the kids who are compelled to live inside the four walls due to the lack of playing space.

4. Dum Maro Dum

Interestingly, Robin and the New Revolution just do not perform Nepali and English songs. They also have performed Hindi songs and released them officially. They have also covered Dum Maro Dum originally sung by Asha Bhosle.

5. Chiso Chiso Hawama

The band have also covered some Nepali classic songs like Chiso Chiso Hawa, originally performed by Danny Denzongpa. However, the cover version of the song, because of the improvisations, sounds entirely different and cool.

6. Jati Maya Laye Pani

Jati Maya Laye Pani is another cover song performed by Robin and the New Revolution. The band have added their own flavours and style to this old classic as well, making the song sound very different from the original sung by Arun Thapa.

7. Nepal

This is another popular song by the band. It begins with soft acoustic guitar but later heavy music that depicts the authentic style of Robin and the New Revolution can be heard as well.

8. Ekta

Ekta just does not sound good but its music video is interesting to watch. The music video features vocalist Robin Tamang as a superhuman character who can render power to needy people.

9. Maila Bhai

Maila Bhai is a song about a soldier who returned to his homeland in a coffin, after suffering a death in the war. The song can be related to many families whose members died in a war as a soldier.
