RJPN demands govt response on US Indo-Pacific Strategy

RJPN leader Raj Kishor Yadav

Kathmandu, May 3

The Rastriya Janata Party Nepal has demanded that the government of Nepal immediately make its position clear about its link with the US government’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.

Following reports in the media, the party also highlights that Finance Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali’s claim that Nepal is not involved in the Strategy contradicted mentions about Nepal in a US report.

Speaking during the ‘special hour’ of House of Representatives meeting on Monday, RJPN leader Raj Kishor Yadav demanded that the government clarify the truth immediately.

He demanded that Minister Gyawali respond to the concern in Parliament.

In another context,  Yadav said the government should not ignore issues of Madhesh while discussing its relations with India.

He said representatives of Madhesh-centric parties should be included in any negotiations held with India.

Yadav warned that the conclusions of negotiations would be incomplete and their implementation could be difficult upon failure to include the Madheshis.
