Rain-triggered floods have shut the Rajbiraj-Kunauli Bhansar road section in Saptari district.
Elsewhere in the district, a flooded Khando River swept away an underconstruction bridge in Tilathi-8.
With roads flooded, traffic movement has come to a stop in parts of Rajbiraj, police informed. This has effectively shut land routes connecting Saptari with bordering Indian territories, bringing trade and commerce to a halt.
Flooding has forced those entering or leaving Nepal through Saptari border to use alternative routes.
