At Matrix Fight Night 17 (MFN 17), Nepali MMA fighter Rabindra Dhant defeated Indian fighter Chungreng Koren to claim the Bantamweight Championship title.
With this historic win, he became the first Nepali fighter to become an MFN champion.
Known for his powerful wrestling and aggressive power, Koren—nicknamed “The Indian Rhino”—tried to dominate from the beginning. However, Dhath responded with calm composure and a smart strategy.
The fight changed in the third round when Dhant started landing rapid punches, putting Koren in big trouble. Eventually, after a decisive combination of punches, the referee stopped the fight and declared Rabindra the winner via TKO.
With this victory, Dhant improved his professional record to 8–1, ending Koren’s five-fight winning streak.
The arena erupted in celebration as Dhant proudly raised the Nepali flag atop the cage.
