Ram Babu Baitha

Birgunj, January 20

A member of the Province 2 committee of ruling Nepal Communist Party has been arrested on a fraud charge. Police say Ram Babu Baitha deceived people by assuring that he would help them get jobs as assistant sub-inspectors in Nepal Police, police say.

Earlier in October last year, a man from Maulapur of Rautahat district had filed a complaint against Baitha, a resident of Pokhariya-1 of Parsa district, and another man named Sunil Chaurasiya.

Police say they have filed a fraud case against Baitha at the District Court. Further investigation is underway.

Baitha was on the run since the complaint was filed. He had gone to the Parsa District Police Office today, after which police arrested him.
