The Province 2 government is preparing to start its own radio station and a printing press. The decision came following approval from the Cabinet meeting on Friday.

“We will now be going forward with the works. We are holding discussions with the technical team. We are targeting to open the radio station and the press by this fiscal year,” informs Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Gyanendra Yadav.

The state will establish a station of 1000 watt capacity in the Radio Madhes building. Two towers, one in Rajbiraj and other in Birgunj, will be installed for transmission.

The publication house will also be established in the Radio Madhes building. All equipment will arrive by this fiscal year, adds Yadav.

According to the plans, the publication house will initially print documents and later will be responsible to publish provincial journals and even broadsheet newspapers.

A budget has also been allocated for the same, says Yadav.
