Janakpur, August 31
The Province 2 government on Friday declared the public holiday on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami to be celebrated on Sunday.
Until last year, the government would give the holiday across the country on the occasion. However, the holiday on this festival among others was cancelled from this year.
Despite the cancellation, some provincial governments have been declaring the public holiday on various occasions.
The Province 2 government had declared the holiday on Janaipurnima as well earlier this week. Some offices under the federal government had violated the decision; but the provincial Internal Affairs Minister had padlocked them, warning of action.
