Prohibitory order in Kathmandu extended by one week

L-R: CDOs of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur

Kathmandu, August 26

The prohibitory order that is in effect in three districts of the Kathmandu valley since August 19 midnight has been extended by one week. Now, it will be in effect until September 2 midnight.

A meeting of the chief district officers of three districts made the decision on Wednesday morning. If not extended, the order was about to expire tonight.

Considering the growing number of coronavirus infection cases in the valley, the local administration issued the order so as to restrict human movement so as to avoid the risk of infection.

While the order is in effect, the public will be barred from coming out of their houses except for emergency works, informs an official. All businesses and shops except those providing services and goods related to health, security, electricity, telecommunication, drinking water, milk and dairy products, petroleum products, medicines, waste management, vegetables, and foodstuffs will be shut.
