
Kathmandu, August 30
President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Thursday afternoon hosted a luncheon in honor of chiefs of governments and states of member countries of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
The lunch was hosted the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas.
Bhutanese Chief Advisor Dasho Tshering Wangchuk, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Burmese President Win Myint, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-Cha and Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena are in Kathmandu to attend the fourth summit of the seven-member regional body.
The summit will open in Kathmandu later this afternoon.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who will inaugurate the summit, was also present at the luncheon.
