Kathmandu, June 1
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called parties represented in Parliament to form a majority government from the House.
The head of the state made the appeal after her call to form a national consensus government did not materialise within a week.
Now, Parliament will elect a Prime Minister with the support of majority lawmakers in the House within a week in accordance with Article 298.3 of the constitution, according to the President’s Office.
It is high likely that Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba will be elected the PM with the support from the third largest force in House, CPN-Maoist Centre, among others.
