Kathmandu, October 17
President Bidya Devi Bhandari is meeting her Burmese counterpart Win Myint and State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi on Thursday. The president is currently in the Southeast Asian country on a state visit.
The Myanmar Defence Service’s commander-in-chief will also call on Bhandari this morning.
Meanwhile, the two countries are signing agreements on tourism and cultural cooperation between the two countries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Later today, the president will attend a state banquet hosted by her counterpart on the occasion of the visit.
When Bhandari landed at Naypytaw airport on Wednesday, the Burmese Minister for International Cooperation Kyaw Tint Swe among others welcomed her.
The president’s delegation includes Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi among others. She will return home on Sunday next week.
