Police arrest global amphetamine trade’s Nepal ‘linchpin’ with 50 lakh rupees

Police have arrested Purna Pakhrin of Satyadevi, Dhading, an alleged kingpin involved in the trade in amphetamine, a banned drug, with Rs 50 lakh.

Dharma Pakhrin, a mastermind behind international amphetamine trade, is presently in Thailand. Dharma is Purna’s elder brother.

Some days ago, police had arrested Netra Gurung and Chitra Tamang with the banned drug. They had revealed to police that Purna was the Nepal chief of Dharma’s international drug network. Police had then put Purna on their wanted list.

Purna had reportedly made plans to use money to get himself off the police list.

The drug dealer had collected Rs 50 lakh to bribe different agencies, including police, a police official informed.
