Police arrest Baidya’s deputy CP Gajurel

Kathmandu, December 29

Police in Kathmandu have arrested CP Gajurel, the vice-chairman of Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Revolutionary Maoist in Singhadarbar on Sunday afternoon.

When Baidya was heading to the Ministry of Defence to submit a memorandum to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Ishwar Pokharel leading a ‘big’ delegation, police nabbed them from the south gate of Singhadarbar, according to DIG Bishwa Raj Pokharel, chief of the Metropolitan Police Office.

They had said they would submit the memorandum about solving the Nepal-India border dispute at the earliest.

Meanwhile, a clash ensued when police stopped the delegation. Two police personnel sustained injuries during the clash, according to police. They are undergoing treatment.

Likewise, two mobile phones belonging to the personnel are missing.
