PM Oli heading to Vietnam, Cambodia on weeklong trip

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is leaving Kathmandu on Thursday on a weeklong visit to Vietnam and Cambodia.

Oli’s counterparts in the two Southeast Asian countries have invited PM Oli to their home countries.

Accompanying the Prime Minister are his spouse Radhika Shakya, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, chief political advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, foreign affairs advisor Rajan Bhattarai, lawmakers, officials of the National Planning Commission and various ministries. Likewise, some nongovernment organisations and media have also sent their representatives.

Oli will first go to Vietnam and he will stay there till coming Monday.

He will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and other officials.

Oli will address various functions there.

It has been learned that the countries will sign some agreements to strengthen the bilateral ties. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not said anything about it.

In Cambodia, Oli will meet his counterpart Hun Sen and some other leaders in Parliament.

Matters relating to bilateral interests will be discussed during the meetings.

Oli will return home on Wednesday next week
