(Updated) Oli’s appendicitis surgery over, to remain in hospital for next few days

Surgeons at the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre in Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital have completed Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s operation.

Dr Arun Sayami of the hospital says Oli is required to stay in the hospital for the next few days. However, the exact duration has not been fixed. “We have to check other issues also,” he says, “We cannot say how long right now.”


PM Oli diagnosed with appendicitis, to undergo surgery at TUTH

Kathmandu, November 26

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been diagnosed with appendicitis and the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital is preparing a surgery for the treatment.

Dr Arun Sayami at the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre in TUTH says Oli will undergo the operation as soon as possible.

Oli was admitted to the hospital this morning. He had gone there for a regular checkup, but the hospital admitted him, according to his press advisor Surya Thapa.

Of late, Oli is also suffering from some kidney problems. He had his kidney transplanted around 12 years ago.
