Govt forms panel to plan Covid-19-hit Nepal tourism revival

The government has formed a committee to draft a plan to revive the Nepal tourism industry that has been severely hit by different waves of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As the third wave of the pandemic is still troubling the entrepreneurs, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation formed the panel.

Rajaram Giri, a noted tourism entrepreneur, leads the team. It involves undersecretaries from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Department of Tourism as well as representatives of the Nepal Tourism Board and Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.

Likewise, the board’s former CEO Deepak Raj Joshi, Nepal Airlines captains Uddhav Ghimire and Suraj Bhandari, Lumbini Museum President Sunima Udas, and Pacific Asia Travel Association Nepal chapter CEO Suresh Singh Budel are also its members.
